The idea for UKFacts came from a simple frustration: it is genuinely hard to answer the question "how is the UK actually doing?" without spending an afternoon cross-referencing a dozen government websites.
The problem with scattered data
Official statistics in the UK are high quality but fragmented. The ONS publishes the economy and migration figures. NHS England owns the health data. The Home Office runs immigration and crime enforcement statistics. The Bank of England sets and reports the base rate. Each releases on its own schedule, in its own format.
For a member of the public — or even a busy journalist — assembling a coherent picture is a real effort. And that effort is exactly what allows misleading narratives to take hold.
What we are doing about it
UKFacts pulls the most important indicators into one clean dashboard. Every metric shows its trend, its history, and where the UK sits against comparable countries. We add short, plain-English analysis so the numbers mean something.
This is just the beginning. Over the coming months we will be adding regional breakdowns, longer historical series, and live data integration so the figures update automatically as new releases land.
